Whereas we did not see something notably uncommon (aside from the Dowitcher!) a stroll round Cley and alongside the shingle to Arnold’s was pleasurable and never unproductive. Largest shock was an eclipse Pintail from Bishop’s, whereas the wader checklist included LRP, Ruff, Snipe, Dunlin and Wooden and Inexperienced Sandpipers. A shoal of baitfish offshore attracted an enormous combined flock of Terns and Gulls: the Terns later flew into roost on Arnold’s. (Good to bump right into a pleasant couple from Edinburgh and change birdy information!)
After espresso we selected a woodland stroll at Felbrigg, parking on the again gate and strolling by to the lake. The one woodland chook of be aware was a Nuthatch, however the lake held plenty of dragons and damsels, together with huge numbers of Small Pink-eyed Damselflies.
