With rain forecast, Brian, Norman and I headed north, extra in hope than anticipation. Bishop’s Cover supplied shelter from the drizzle, however little else (Though I did lastly add Reed Bunting and Cetti’s Warbler to the 12 months record!)
We moved westward to Stiffkey, strolling out by the mud to the ‘Whirligig’: a lot of Brent Geese, however no Crimson -breasted amongst them. Heading again to Cley for espresso, we paused to scan the flood south of the street, instantly finding the long-staying Shiny Ibis. After espresso we moved a couple of miles to a widely known heath, the place a brief stroll gave us all nice views of a few male Dartford Warblers (Once more: the sunshine was horrible!)
Final cease was the John Innes, Colney, the place the Waxwings did not put in an look!
