Norman, Brian and I met on the Heath at 7.15 and headed north by the gloom. First cease was the unproductive seaside at Cley, adopted by a transfer to Bishop’s. A number of Godwits and Avocets, with a smattering of Ruff, however no signal of the reported Dowitcher, so we selected a stroll alongside the East Financial institution. We have been shortly rewarded with good views of Bearded Tit – round a dozen – much less spectacular glimpses of a few Sedge Warblers and a pair of Spoonbills heading west.
Strolling again to the Centre, I finished to {photograph} the Heronry on North Foreland woods: it was solely after I processed these at dwelling that I found I would photographed a Evening Heron! This was seen by others later within the day…
Espresso and scones have been adopted by a go to to the centre hides, the place a ring-tailed Hen Harrier was most welcome, as was a reasonably energetic Spoonbill and a pair of Little Ringed Plovers.
On the way in which dwelling we stopped at Ranworth to search for the returning Osprey: no signal whereas we have been there, however a confiding Kingfisher, a number of Chiffchaffs and a predatory Grebe have been good to see.
