Linda was out all day instructing new beekeepers, so it was somewhat irritating to listen to that two White Storks had arrived at a small pool by the River Ant. After a light-weight supper we drove via the empty roads to Ludham Bridge and, after a brief stroll, discovered a small group having fun with the surprising guests: one had a blue ring, the opposite was fully unfettered!
Additionally current on the pool have been two Wooden Sandpipers, a pair of Little Ringed Plovers, a Spoonbill and, distantly, a Barn Owl.
After ‘grill’, we determined to maneuver a few miles to St Benet’s, the place as much as seven Brief-eared Owls had lately been current. We weren’t upset: though not one of the 5 we noticed got here significantly shut, they – and a second Barn Owl – have been nice to see within the night daylight.
