In Mathura, on the Elephant Conservation and Care Centre, a profound and touching relationship has been superbly captured in a brand new brief movie titled ‘My Candy Paro’.
Produced by Wildlife SOS, the movie portrays the extraordinary bond between Suzy, a 74-year-old blind elephant, and her devoted caregiver, Baburam.
Suzy, considered one of India’s oldest elephants in rescued care, has spent the final 9 years on the sanctuary after being saved from a circus in Andhra Pradesh in 2015.
The movie follows Suzy’s journey to restoration and her deepening bond with Baburam, who has devoted over 50 years of his life to caring for elephants.
He lovingly refers to Suzy as ‘Paro’, and their story is a testomony to the therapeutic energy of compassion and companionship.
The serene visuals of the sanctuary, paired with intimate moments between Suzy and Baburam, provide viewers a glimpse into their peaceable life collectively. Baburam’s nurturing care and unwavering dedication spotlight how love and kindness can mend even the deepest wounds.
