Linda and I took a mid-morning run out to Filby Broad to see if we may join with any of the scarce geese which were current for a few days: the truth is we managed all three! First was a pleasant drake Eider (with two females) Not scarce within the higher scheme of issues, however, being sea duck, most pleasing to seek out so near residence!
A stroll by way of the woods to the viewing platform gave us quite a few yr ticks, together with two pleasant Treecreepers – this has been a troublesome species for me lately!
A drake Ferruginous Duck (which had been very elusive) relocated to the north of the street: with some assist from Marcus Nash I managed just a few sleeping pictures of it by way of the reeds. We crossed the street once more and finally positioned the feminine Ring-necked Duck – arduous to seek out / {photograph} towards the Solar amongst tons of of Pochard and Tufties! On the best way again to the automobile we discovered the gallery had elevated considerably: one well-known / infamous lister had managed the Fudge, however had apparently missed every part else…
Final tick of the day was a Home Sparrow on neighbour Sue’s hedge! All of them rely!
