After an early begin (03.45) and regardless of a hideous quantity of site visitors on the M23, M25 and M11, we made good time and have been residence from Findon (close to Shoreham) earlier than 07.00.
As all the time the cottage on Gallop’s Farm was impeccably clear and welcoming and it was nice chatting with hosts Emma & Rob. Their farm is step by step evolving into an actual ‘wildlife expertise’, with new meadows, a pond and bold plans for an avenue of bushes.
For Mum-in-Legislation it was a welcome escape from her regular, considerably tedious routine and I am positive she loved including White-tailed Eagle to the Cattle and Nice White Egrets she noticed for the primary time on this journey! Many due to the birder who helped Mary to see the eagle, transferring and altering his telescope so she might view it from her wheelchair: you’re a gentleman, sir!
A lot of tea and desserts have been consumed, as was a pleasant Indian supper, delivered straight to our cottage door!
