Brian and I made a decision to move south for a change (partly in hope that yesterday’s Lound Night time Herons can be relocated) Additionally: we’ve not visited Minsmere for over a 12 months and there is usually one thing of curiosity to have a look at. At the moment was largely an exception!
Half a dozen new ’12 months ticks’, however no Ouzels, Garganey or shut up Bitterns – though we did see a distant chicken skim over the reedbeds from Island Mere cover. After a very good soaking on the best way to the spectacular new East Conceal and again to the reserve centre, the veggie sausage roll was most welcome. Afterwards we returned for one more take a look at the woodland: a trio of Muntjac had been attention-grabbing to look at…
