The massive flint is a ‘livre de beurre’: actually ‘pound of butter’! It is a Neolithic core, from Pressignien within the Loire Valley. Instrument-makers round 6000 years in the past struck blades and scrapers from these massive rectangular flints, leaving the attribute scalloped floor: uncommon, beneficial and a lovely addition to my ‘cupboard of curiosities’.
The books are crime fiction novels set in Norfolk, alongside the traces of Elly Griffith’s books (all of which I’ve learn!) whereas the yellow ball is a ‘Moon Candle’ Linda constructed from her bees’ wax!
