Linda and I spent Friday and Saturday in Cambridge on the invitation of the Cambridge Astronomical Affiliation. On Friday evening I used to be visitor speaker, my subject being the connection between cometary impacts and extinction occasions. There was a terrific crowd who appeared to benefit from the speak, asking a number of difficult questions which – thankfully – I used to be capable of reply!
On Saturday morning I took half within the annual Younger Astronomers’ Affiliation’s Christmas pantomime. I used to be flattered to be given the starring position as Sherlock Holmes in a crisp manufacturing that the 60 or so children (and their dad and mom!) appeared to get pleasure from. I gave a second speak, this time about meteorites and their origins. A terrific weekend: due to all on the CAA.
