
Brookfield Zoo in Chicago welcomed a fuzzy pair of Humboldt penguin chicks on January 28 and January 31.
The chicks had been born to folks Cara and Popero. Animal care consultants on the zoo incubated the eggs. After they hatched, one chick was raised by the dad and mom, and the opposite chick was reared by foster dad and mom Patty and Valentino.


Humboldt penguins are native to the western shoreline of South America close to Peru and Chile. They’re thought of weak of extinction by the IUCN Crimson Record.
Researchers estimate the wild inhabitants to be underneath 24,000. Brookfield Zoo Chicago has led a conservation program at Punta San Juan for almost 20 years to assist bolster the inhabitants.
