The Roger Williams Park Zoo in Windfall, RI welcomed a child Linne’s two-toed sloth, named Scout, on September 8.
“Child Scout and mother Fiona are each doing nice,” the zoo reported in a social media submit. “Fiona is a superb momma, and they’re bonding superbly.”
Guests to the Roger Williams Park Zoo can discover Scout and Fiona hanging out within the zoo’s rainforest habitat.

Within the wild, sloths reside the rainforests of Central and South America. They spend most of their time hanging the wrong way up from the tree cover and solely come all the way down to the bottom to poop.
Linne’s two-toed sloths are a part of the Affiliation of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan, which goals to keep up a wholesome and genetically numerous inhabitants of sloths worldwide.
The start of Scout is an excellent step ahead for this system.
