Clutch is a 10-year-old rescued stray who got here into my life virtually 9 years in the past, after he was discovered residing in a grocery store automotive park. His confidence and laid again persona was not like any cat I’ve ever identified, and in a family of 5 cats and 5 canine, he usually prefers firm of the canine persuasion. One other quirk distinctive to Clutch is his love of being vacuumed.
Now, you may be questioning how this uncommon love story got here to be. All of it took place at some point after I was doing a spot of cleansing – a reasonably frequent exercise in a home with this many pets – and I seen that Clutch was by no means phased as I used to be zooming round him with the hand-held vacuum cleaner. So clearly I believed to myself, I ponder what he’d do if I used it on him?
Initially, he simply didn’t appear to care, which is how he approaches most issues in life. You may be considering that, being a white cat, Clutch is deaf. Under no circumstances. He doesn’t have the blue eyed gene, and belief me, his listening to is spot-on. However I’ve but to search out something that phases him; the strongest response you’ll ever get from this chilled out dude is delicate irritation.
The subsequent time I had my little hoover out, I believed I’d give him one other go, and this time, he began to rub in opposition to it, rolling over, and actually having fun with the entire expertise! Since that day, any time I begin utilizing the hand-held vacuum, he comes working, demanding to have his flip! What higher option to cut back the quantity of pet hair round the home than to go straight to the supply!
Clutch’s uncommon behaviors don’t cease there. Listed below are just some of the strange issues that this cute and affectionate little man does to brighten my world:
- He’ll goal anybody carrying black and choose their lap to occupy
- He finds probably the most uncomfortable wanting areas to sleep on – eg. an ornamental log, within the fruit bowl, on high of keys (which is terrific once you’re working late and might’t discover them!)
- If he ever manages to flee outdoors (he’s an indoor kitty), he does so loudly, meowing for all to listen to, ensuring everyone knows he’s getting out!
And so many extra. I’ve identified and liked many, many cats through the years, however none have been fairly as distinctive as Clutch, Lover of the Vacuum Cleaner. Now, if I might simply educate him the right way to use it…
