A fantastic re-union with Minjae Baek, now communication officer on the EAAFP, for a day-long survey of Han River Estuary, from Munsusan space to Yudo to Siam wetland. The snow was already  gone in most locations, the climate sadly hazy with slight rain within the morning.

Dominating birds in winter are the geese, with nearly 4000 Nice White-fronted Geese and 3000 Tundra Bean Geese plus dozens of Taiga Bean Geese. No Swan geese within the spot the place they had been present in December in earlier years. Perhaps the quick, however thick snow cowl made them fly additional South? Alongside the river coast, a number of hundred Spot-billed Geese and Mallards, plus smaller teams of Northern Pintail, Eurasian Teal, and in a small stream a single feminine Tufted Duck and a male Smew.
