In dismal climate situations, hen watching didn’t work as deliberate… the primary day, there was quick and steady rain with robust gusts of wind, the second day, rain and thunderstorm grew to become so heavy that no outside exercise was attainable. Hallasan was the entire time invisible, as effectively from North, South, East and West. I select to drive alongside the East Coast from Jeju Metropolis to Hado-Ri. In the entire time, I didn’t see a single sea gull (the primary time I keep in mind being on the sea with none gulls…). Within the small harbors and bays in addition to in Hado-ri, there was nonetheless an assortment of various geese, together with Northern shovelers, Pintails, Falcated Geese, Gadwells and many others. The biggest group have been greater than 150 Eurasian coots on Hado-Ri lake.
A small variety of waders – Whimbrels, Little Ring Plovers, a Frequent Sandpiper, a Greenshank and Gray Tattlers. Finest hen of the journey was a single Chinese language egret amongst some Nice and Little egrets. An Asian brown flycatcher ducking from the rain was the one notable passerine. Jeju is known for wind, stones and girls. The primary one I had sufficient this time, subsequent time hopefully there may be extra of the others…
