…versus meteorites! Each week I obtain at the very least half a dozen e-mails from hopeful correspondents who assume they’ve discovered a ‘real meteorite’. They not often put it in these phrases, in fact: they’re often very positive of themselves to the purpose of abruptness. A typical e-mail would learn:
“I discovered this meteorite on my drive / the seashore / whereas strolling the canine. I do know it is a meteorite as a result of it is interested in a magnet / is nothing like I’ve seen earlier than / it appears to be like like those in your web site. Would you wish to make a wise supply for it?”
Within the thirty or so years I have been promoting and lecturing about meteorites solely a single particular person has ever proven me the actual article: the opposite (a number of thousand!) have principally been one or different of these within the picture beneath:
