Regardless of a really gloomy climate forecast, Norman, Brian and I made the half hour drive to Cley, arriving in heat temperatures and brilliant sunshine. This did not final lengthy: every so often a fantastic drizzle would cross over, with heavier showers seen to the west. Nonetheless, we managed visits to Bishop’s, the Coastguards and Arnold’s Marsh, the place three Little Gulls, Gray Plovers, Barwits and flight views of a Little Stint made it well worth the journey. A pipit that flew in from the ocean appeared to have options of a Tree Pipit…
After espresso we headed west to Burnham Overy, strolling the muddy observe out to the estuary. Other than two fly-over Spoonbills, there was little to see, highlights being Little Tern, Little Egret and Yellowhammer. Simply as we reached the tip of the trail the heavens opened, so we scuttled again to the automotive and headed for residence, selecting up a bonus Raven as we approached Wells.
