This weekend was a reunion for Linda, me and previous mates Jason, Jane and Paul: see above for particulars! Having loved our conventional lunch at Orford Quay, we carried on south to Shingle Road – a spot with an enchanting if considerably macabre historical past. After a brief stroll behind the Martello Towers we unexpectedly got here throughout a pair of Quick-eared Owls: whether or not they have been displaying or collaboratively looking, who is aware of? Beautiful to see and Paul particularly was very excited!
Later, whereas exploring Rendlesham Forest at the hours of darkness, we stunned a Woodcock on the trail, having fun with terrific shut views because it flew off.
