Since I began photographing / videoing birds again in 1994, I’ve saved a listing of the species I’ve managed to seize – most of which have appeared on this weblog. (The exceptions being those who exist solely on VHS tape!) I am pleasantly stunned to see that the full now stands at 83% of my UK checklist: 370 species. Not all of those are of the very best quality- my unique Pentax outfit wasn’t as much as a lot! Nonetheless, I completely get pleasure from searching via the weblog (and my numerous exterior onerous drives!) It is a pleasure denied to those that by no means take pictures and who usually must depend on their more and more dimming recollections…
Listed here are a few of my favorite encounters:
Purple Swamphen, Sandhill Crane, Oriental Pratincole, Black-winged Pratincole, Collared Pratincole
Ivory Gull, Franklin’s Gull, Laughing Gull, Ross’s Gull, Gull-billed Tern, Whiskered Tern
Lesser Brief-toed Lark, Spectacled Warbler, Booted Warbler, Paddyfield Warbler, Arctic Warbler, Penduline Tit, Lammergeier, Rufous Bush Chat, Daurian Shrike, Brown Shrike, Turkistan Shrike, Isabelline Shrike…. and never forgetting Nutcracker!
