
The Taronga Wildlife Hospital in Dubbo, Australia supplied life-saving care to a sick koala joey, named Hank.
When Hank arrived on the hospital in January, he was dehydrated and torpid. Veterinary workers supplied 24-hour intensive take care of weeks, giving him IV fluids, treatment and a particular milk weight loss program. Now Hank is prospering.


“After being in round the clock care the previous few months, coming residence with me at night time and being on the Wildlife Hospital in the course of the day, Hank has now been weaned and is adjusting to his leaf solely weight loss program,” stated Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s Senior Veterinary Nurse, Jodie Lardner-Smith.
Hank is at the moment residing on the wildlife hospital. However he can be launched to different koalas in a rehabilitation enclosure so he can study vital koala life abilities. This can put together him for his eventual return to the wild.
