A New Jersey man was arrested following an incident at Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks, the place he’s accused of decapitating a seagull.
The arrest came about after 29-year-old Franklin Zeigler from Cape Might allegedly reacted violently when a seagull tried to grab French fries from his daughter on July 6.
In accordance with a press launch from the North Wildwood Police Division, witnesses reported seeing Zeigler tear off the fowl’s head.
Zeigler was reportedly seen asking workers for a trash bag whereas holding the deceased seagull.
Upon police arrival, Zeigler was described as irate and uncooperative, resulting in costs of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
Additional investigation by the Humane Regulation Enforcement Workplace, which included reviewing witness statements and pictures, resulted in Zeigler being charged with third-degree Animal Cruelty.
He was issued a summons and launched, awaiting his courtroom look.
The North Wildwood Police Division emphasised that Zeigler is presumed harmless till confirmed responsible and inspired anybody with further data to return ahead.
