Linda was out at her varied apiaries this morning, so it was fairly irritating to see a Pink-footed Falcon come up on the pager. Fortuitously, she arrived again at round 1.30, so I scooted off and was strolling as much as Fen Cover at 2.00. I picked out a falcon spiraling up into the blue sky, however – aside from a ‘feeling – could not give it a particular i/d. Over the following three hours I noticed and photographed a lot of Hobbies and located a Lesser Emperor dragonfly, however no signal of the RFF. Loads of pleasant birders: good to stumble upon Dot, Steve and Drew and others who knew me by the weblog: I loved sharing a Swallowtail (and different butterflies) with a pleasant couple from Wales.
