Watching the Moon move in entrance of the planet Venus is a reasonably particular occasion: it would occur on September 14th and will probably be seen (probably!) from the UK.
The precise occultation will happen at 09.30: sadly each objects is not going to but have risen above the japanese horizon. Nevertheless, the very skinny crescent Moon will rise round 11.00 within the east – south east: half an hour later Venus will emerge from behind the Moon, producing the terrific sight of two skinny crescents facet by facet! A pair of binoculars or small telescope needs to be good enogh – if it is clear I will attempt for a photograph or two! BEWARE: the Solar is just not distant within the sky, so take care to not level your optics wherever close to it! Under is my simulation of the occasion.
