At the moment was the June wildlife survey at All Saints, Hemblington: Linda, Sue, Peter and I had been joined by outdated pals Joyce and Andrew for a most gratifying – and productive – nature watch!
In addition to the standard number of passerines, we had been happy to see good numbers of raptors, considered one of which was a fantastically marked Honey Buzzard! Since Joyce departed for Suffolk we have missed her botanical experience: Sue and I aren’t unhealthy at figuring out the apparent flora, however Joyce is one thing else! In among the many tall grasses and Oxeye Daisies she picked out a brand new species for the churchyard – Wild Basil
Final enormous shock – and addition to the church record – was a fly by Swallowtail. It appeared to land in a cherry tree within the hedge, however could not be situated.
