Norman and I began early and had been in Bishop’s Cover earlier than 07.30. A Little Stint was a great discover, and Bearded Tits are all the time welcome. A stroll proper across the reserve turned up extra fascinating birds: the three Whinchat had been most likely one of the best of the bunch. (We had been happy to indicate them to outdated birding acquaintances Richard and Michael and grandson)
A go to to the centre hides (after scones!) gave us Wooden Sandpiper and twenty or extra Spoonbills, whereas the stroll again produced a ‘kettle’ of ten Widespread Buzzards over the reserve. We chatted with Elizabeth Dack for some time, earlier than strolling round Walsey Hills – aside from plenty of Ivy Bees, nothing to report, so we left for residence…
