Linda and I drove as much as the highest of the Heath to unlock the ‘Little Church on the Hill’: it was cool and overcast, so we did not anticipate to see something uncommon: however, we had bins and digital camera with us!
First shock was a Nice Noticed Woodpecker, initially excessive in one of many bushes within the copse, subsequently bashing its brains out on a telegraph pole by the Corridor! Then, driving slowly again alongside Excessive Midday Lane, we stopped to scan the temporarily-flooded discipline nook, proper by the highway. To our shock a Inexperienced Sandpiper was feeding alongside the sting, often throwing again its head to name. Different birds included Crimson Kite, Inventory Dove and Blackcap.
