We did not really feel like trekking all the way in which to Titchwell for the reported Crimson-necked Phal – the site visitors was terrible! As an alternative Norman, Brian and I headed for our default vacation spot: Cley. On the way in which we stopped on the Dun Cow to search for the reported Shiny Ibis, however we could not see it: we carried on, parked and walked out to Bishop’s. We spent a nice hour trying to find the waders, including Wooden and Curlew Sandpiper, Dunlin, a distant Little Stint and different odds and ends, sharing them Claire, with a really nice birder from Sheringham.
In hope of discovering a Whinchat (or different passage birds) we moved alongside to Gramborough Hill, the place a potential perched on the fence for us: the sunshine was terrible and I could not resolve whether or not it had sufficient tremendous to make it a Whinchat, somewhat than one other feminine Stonechat – of which there have been loads! New for the day was an obliging Wheatear.
Again to Cley for espresso adopted by a visit to the centre hides. Right here we added Cattle Egret to the daylist in addition to Inexperienced Sandpiper, Greenshank and a great deal of Wall Browns… As we had been climbing into the automotive to drive house, I seen a Willow Emerald damselfly simply a few ft away!
