No Brian as we speak, so Norman picked me up at 7-ish for a run as much as the north coast. The goal fowl was the considerably elusive American Wigeon that has been touring the Kelling – Salthouse – Cley strip: because it had been seen yesterday from the Iron Highway, that is the place we began. Sadly no signal, so after a verify by means of the distant Scoter flock (choosing up the Lengthy-tailed Duck) we moved to Cley.
Bishop’s Disguise gave us Frequent Sandpiper and shut views of a number of Little Ringed Plovers, in addition to the primary of three Snipe: a stroll alongside the East Financial institution added Whimbrel, shared with us by a pleasing couple from Shropshire in addition to previous acquaintances Mike and Richard. The stroll again added Reed Warbler and Spoonbill to the checklist.
After espresso we walked out to the centre hides, having fun with nice views of quite a few Sedge Warblers, Frequent Lizards and a confiding Wren. Nothing else to see, so we selected a final verify from the Iron Highway, the place, due to common Julian and his canine Buttons, we lastly ‘loved’ telescopic views of the American Wigeon because it snoozed on a distant island!
