…and plenty extra apart from! Simply Brian and me immediately – Norman has a foul again – so I made a decision to move all the way down to Suffolk for a bash on the recently-present uncommon terns. First cease was the East Cover (pausing to admire a considerably obscured Grasshopper Warbler) the place I discovered a pleasant Little Gull. It was apparent all of the Terns had been on the following scrape, so we moved to the general public viewing platform, from the place a pleasant newly-local birder picked out a few distant Roseate Terns. He knowledgeable us that the Suffolk Whatsapp group had been reporting the Gull-billed Tern over at Island Mere – a good previous hike! However, we made good time and had been quickly having fun with fabulous views of this rarity – solely my second in fifty-plus years of birding! Fleeting views of a Bittern earlier than we adjourned for espresso and snacks and a transfer up on to Dunwich Heath. No Dartfords, however some attention-grabbing dragons and damsels: Magnum ice lotions after which residence!
